The field of operations research encompasses a growing number of technical areas. The scope of the second edition has been expanded to cover several additional topics. These include new chapters on order statistics, heuristic search methods, and traffic flow and delay. Some chapters havealso been updated with new material, and many new references have been added. As before, the focus is on presenting handy analytical results and formulas that allow quick calculations and provide the understanding of system models.
