Book Preface
After two years of hard work and no pay, I closed the doors of my digital marketing agency and applied for a job.
At that moment, I was very happy that somebody hired me.
Two years later I decided to leave that job to launch a new agency.
Within a year, we were making a nice living.
Six years later, we’re one of the top growth companies in the Inc 5000.
So, what made the difference in my second agency?
In my first agency, every time I landed a new client, I hoped it was the sign I had finally broken through.
Somebody I met at BNI or the Chamber would tell a friend. I’d build their website, pay most of the bills I was late on, get them on a hosting package and then… CRICKETS.
So, I’d try a few things to rank my site higher. I’d publish some articles and I’d make sure I went to twice as many networking meetings the next month.
However, the recurring revenue barely trickled in. I’d get one or two gigs that helped me catch up on bills, and I told myself it would get better.
I had to recognize that it wouldn’t change. And I didn’t know the way out.
• I didn’t have a strategy to grow to the next level.
• I didn’t have a roadmap for success.
At that point, I didn’t have a choice. So, I applied for jobs.
Two years later, I decided to set up another agency – and this time would be different.
• This time I had a strategy that would work.
• This time I had a roadmap for success.
Fortunately, I was right. I did have a strategy and a roadmap that would make it work this time.
The first time around, I didn’t understand the problems I faced in the market. So, I never knew what would work.
Discovering the Roadmap
What I ‘m going to share with you in this book is the plan that we started implementing from day one.
This took us straight to a very successful business within a year. And it’s pushed us forward to even bigger dreams.
It’s a roadmap that we have fine-tuned in our own business and applied it in other agencies over and over. It can do the same for you.
Now I’m not going to BS you, this isn’t turnkey or get rich quick.
It does involve some difficult decisions and some hard work.
But it’s a roadmap that transformed my life and the lives of many others we’ve worked with.
