Pro Windows 8 Development with XAML and C#
Wow. Writing a book of this magnitude is a huge effort, and the authors are only a part of the whole process. My involvement with this book started much longer ago than I care to admit, and I would have never made it this far without an army of awesome folks from Apress helping me every step of the way. I can’t even begin to thank them enough, but I’ll try. Dan Maharry and Todd Meister were tireless in making sure the code samples were clear and concise, and more importantly, actually worked! I couldn’t have asked for better tech reviewers! Thank you for keeping me sharp, making sure I got the code in the right places, and didn’t leave anything out that would confuse (or frustrate) the readers. Ewan Buckingham and Jim DeWolf started this process with me, and kept me moving forward. Chris Nelson has seemingly dedicated every waking moment to making sure the book is the best possible it can be. Thank you for constantly reminding me that what’s clear in my head isn’t always as clear to someone else! Chris made sure that we had consistency throughout the book as well as that the message was clear and concise. Jana Weinstein then went over everything with a fine-tooth comb and significantly helped me to improve the copy. And finally, Christine Ricketts gets a big high five for kicking me in the butt when necessary. It’s not a fun job, I’m sure, but a most valuable one! Without this all-star team collaborating with me on this, we never would have made it to press, and you wouldn’t be reading this.
I also want to thank Jesse Liberty and Jon Galloway for trusting me to finish what they started, and giving me the opportunity to work with such an awesome team at Apress.
And of course, my family deserves a huge high-five for putting up with me constantly hacking on new code and then writing it up. And for keeping me motivated! Conner’s constant “Where are you in the book?†would remind me that I needed to get back to work, and then I’d knock out another section of a chapter or another review. Thanks to Logan and Skylar for being patient with me. Now that we are done, we have a lot more time for XBOX!
